Cryo-Jet coolers are ambient or chilled air cooling units that use patented air impingement technology to cool many food products.  Our technology uses hundreds of low-mass air jets to quickly and efficiently cool the product while still maintaining critical product properties (e.g. appearance, taste, shape, etc).  The jets of air scrub away the boundary layer of heat allowing the products core heat to conduct outward; effectively reducing the total amount of heat stored by the product.  This can translate into shorter cooling conveyors using less floor space, lower temperatures for packaged products, higher freezer efficiency, longer periods between freezer defrost cycles, and reduced energy requirements. Cryo-Jets are normally located after an oven or fryer, but prior to a freezer or packaging machine.

 

Cryo-Jets come in convenient sizes for applications using 24", 30", 36", 42", 48" and 60" wide belts.  Custom sizes are available upon request.  Cryo-Jets can be sold as stand-alone units for mounting on customer's conveyor or as a complete system with a FOODesign wire mesh or plastic belt conveyor.
